Cookie policy
Last updated 22 October 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files placed on your device by websites you visit. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in a comparable way. This policy explains which ones FirmFacts uses and the choices you have. For how we handle personal data generally, see our privacy notice.
2. Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off in our systems. Under the law they do not need your consent. They are used to:
- keep you signed in and secure your session, if you have an account;
- show the version of a page that matches your plan;
- remember your answer about analytics cookies (for up to a year);
- protect forms and the site against abuse and automated traffic;
- remember preferences you set, such as your display theme and the companies you choose to compare (stored in your browser).
3. Analytics (only with your consent)
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) and PostHog (PostHog Inc., with data hosted in the EU) to understand how the site is used and to improve it. They set cookies such as _ga and ph_*, which last up to two years and one year respectively, and may record the information described in our privacy notice. They are not used for advertising. If you do not accept, these services are not loaded.
4. Advertising
We do not use advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies.
5. Managing your choice
You can change your analytics choice at any time with the button below. Declining removes the analytics cookies we have set. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as signing in, from working.
6. Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the cookies we use change; the date above shows the latest version. Questions: support@firmfacts.co.
